Joey and Eli

I think they like each other. What do you think?

Christmas Eve

It was a beautiful Christmas Eve in Colorado Springs. There was still snow from our blizzard and it started snowing again at dusk. We all went for a walk to see Christmas lights. Abbi knew a neighborhood that puts out luminaries every year so we were all very excited to see it all lit up. Joey was especially excited because there was a nativity scene at a house that would not showcase the baby Jesus until Christmas Eve. The neighborhood is about 4 or 5 blocks away. We had Joey and Eli all bundled up: Eli with mommy in the Mai Tai (soft carrier) and Joey looking like a "Christmas Taco" (wrapped in a blanket) in the buggy. I guess Joey was a little too warm and cozy and the long busy day a little too long and busy because just before we got to the house with the nativity, he fell asleep. We wouldn't let him take a nap so he would go to bed early and we could set up his new present from his Papaw and it all caught up with him at the exact wrong time. Oh well. Sorry Joey. The walk was still very pretty with the snow falling and the lights glowing. Next year maybe Joey can stay awake and see the lights.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Joey

Joey has some new favorite phrases that he loves to astound us with. (Yeah I know I ended that sentence with a preposition. So?) Here are a few: (Remember Joey is only 3 years old.)
"I don't know what you are talking about."
"I don't know what that means."
"I don't care."
"I don't understand what you are saying."
"No, you calm down!"

We learn something new everyday from him.

Joey's Party

Joey's party was a great success. We played some games including wrapping some adults in streamers and the kids each made a party hat. We had tacos for dinner and brownies and pumpkin pudding for dessert. Joey is already enjoying his gifts, especially the books and the snowman. Thank you to everyone who came and we missed those of you who could not be here.

Bus

The boys and I are enjoying riding the bus. Joey is so poliet and outgoing, he loves to see all the people. Eli is happy that he is not in the carseat and that he can be close to me. My legs are a little sore from the extra walking but I am excited about being more fit and I am loosing weight already. Joey walks very well or rides in the buggy/stroller and Eli likes to ride in the buggy/stroler when he or I need a break from the sling.

We did have a learning experince today involving the buggy and a lot of groceries and a big fall. We are all okay except that my knee is scraped and Joey and I each have a nice bruise. Now I know that we need to shop for groceries BEFORE we are out of everything.

The other day we were boarding the bus and Joey got on while I navigated the stroller. Joey had been eating an apple and I overheard him say to the bus driver "Do you have a garbage so I can through away my apple?". I was so proud of him! The bus driver was impresed too, he comented that most adults would have left it on the seat.

Life as we knew it in our house is OVER

Last night Eli, who is 7 1/2 months old, started crawling. He has been able to crawl for some time but just has been unsure of his own ability. Now there is nothing stopping him. We are excited about this new adventure, but Abbi and I now have to keep on the one chore that was created by the devil simply for our punishment: VACUUMING!
